Janine Fondiller is a Master Pilates instructor with over 20 years of experience and a unique, cross-disciplinary approach to the practice and teaching of Pilates. Janineʼs approach is informed and inspired by her many years as a dancer, aerialist, yoga practitioner and athlete. Janine was introduced to Pilates while earning her degree at San Francisco State University. While studying for her diploma in Professional Dance Studies at the Laban Center London, she fell in love with her morning Pilates classes, and decided to add Pilates to her teaching skill set. Upon returning to San Francisco in 2000, Janine received her formal Pilates training and certification from Ellie Herman. In 2008, she was invited to become an Master Instructor and Educater for Balanced Body, and currently leads teacher trainings in San Francisco.

Janine has incorporated Functional Gait Assessment, Osteo-safe Pilates, Injury Recovery and Prevention, Restorative Yoga,, Myofascial release, and Mindfulness into her training and expertise. Assessing alignment, mobilizing stuck areas, strengthening tight and weak areas, and improving body mechanics are all a key component to her approach. Janine brings a warm and caring style to her teaching. Her experience helps deliver results.

In addition to the Classic Pilates equipment, Janine has fallen in love with the CoreAlign. A contemporary and uniquely designed piece of Pilates equipment designed for working on balance, posture, functional strength, and neuromuscular training. The benefits of working on the CoreAlign are incredible.

When she’s not hard at work in the studio, Janine enjoys epic travel and adventures near and far, standup paddle-boarding, hiking, yoga and learning to play the ukulele. She is deeply grateful to all her wonderful students and teachers.
