Janine Louise Fondiller

Janine Fondiller is a Master Pilates instructor with over 25 years of experience and a unique, cross-disciplinary approach to the practice and teaching of Pilates. Janineʼs approach is informed and inspired by her many years as a dancer, aerialist, yoga and mindfulness practitioner. Janine was introduced to Pilates while earning her degree at San Francisco State University. While studying for her diploma in Professional Dance Studies at the Laban Center London, she fell in love with her morning Pilates classes, and decided to add Pilates to her teaching skill set. Upon returning to San Francisco in 2000, Janine received her formal Pilates training and certification from Ellie Herman. In 2008, she was invited to become an Master Instructor and Educator for Balanced Body.

Janine loves continuing studies on the art and science of movement, and has been lucky to study with many of the gifted teachers in the Pilates field, including Tom McCook, Nora St. John, Karen Clippinger, Brian Richey, Gina Giammanco, and Jean Claude West. Janine brings a warm and caring style to her teaching while maintaining a high level of expertise.

In addition to the Classic Pilates equipment, Janine has fallen in love with the CoreAlign. A contemporary piece of Pilates equipment designed by a physical therapist for working on balance, posture, functional strength, and neuromuscular training.

When she’s not hard at work in the studio, Janine enjoys epic travel and adventures near and far, standup paddle-boarding, hiking, going to flea markets and seeing live music. She is grateful to all her wonderful students and teachers alike.
